# Radial inductor A radial leaded inductor standing on the board: Fastron's pluggable pin type coils. Lead 1 is at the origin, lead 2 is at +X by the pitch, and the leads go straight down through the board. The body is centred between them. | Series | Kind | Body Ø max | Height max | Lead Ø | Pitch | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | 07M | shielded | 10 | 12.5 | 0.65 | 5.0 | | 07P | with tube | 7.2 | 11.0 | 0.65 | 3.5 | | 07HCP | open drum core | 8.3 | 10.0 | 0.70 | 5.0 | | 07HCP/T | with tube | 9.2 | 10.5 | 0.70 | 5.0 | | 09HCP | open drum core | 12.3 | 10.8 | 0.80 | 7.0 | | 09HCP/T | with tube | 12.7 | 11.5 | 0.80 | 7.0 | | 07HVP | open drum core | 8.3 | 10 | 0.7 | 5.0 | | 07HVP/T | with tube | 9.2 | 10.5 | 0.7 | 5.0 | | 11P | with tube | 10.5 | 15.0 | 0.7 | 5.0 | Every inductance of a series has the same body. The sheets' part number tables give the inductances. ## Source Fastron's data sheets, one page each, from Fastron's own site (, "Pluggable Inductors (Pin Type Coils)", the series' product pages, files under `wp-content/uploads/2026/06/`). Each sheet's drawing gives the maximum body diameter and height, the lead diameter and the pitch. - 07M, revision date 03 Aug 2022 (`07M.pdf`): Ø 10 max, 12.5 max, leads Ø 0.65, 5.0 apart. - 07P, revision date 29 Jul 2022 (`07P.pdf`): Loose / Box [-50], Ø 7.2 max, 11.0 max, leads Ø 0.65, 3.5 apart. The Taped / Reel [-51] version, with formed leads at 5.0, isn't modelled. - 07HCP and 07HCP/T, revision date 26 Aug 2022 (`07HCP-07HCP_T.pdf`): Ø 8.3 max and 10.0 max; with tube Ø 9.2 max and 10.5 max; leads Ø 0.70, 5.0 apart. - 09HCP and 09HCP/T, revision date 29 Aug 2022 (`09HCP-09HCP_T.pdf`): Ø 12.3 max and 10.8 max; with tube Ø 12.7 max and 11.5 max; leads Ø 0.80, 7.0 apart. - 07HVP and 07HVP/T, revision date 25 Aug 2022 (`07HVP-07HVP_T.pdf`): Ø 8.3 max and 10 max; with tube Ø 9.2 max and 10.5 max; leads Ø 0.7, 5.0 apart. - 11P, revision date 12 Aug 2022 (`11P.pdf`): Ø 10.5 max, 15.0 max, leads Ø 0.7, 5.0 apart. **Proportions, for looks only.** The sheets draw the shapes but dimension only the diameter and height: - 07M's can has its top edge chamfered by 0.05 x the diameter. - A tube follows the drum core's flanges. They're 0.2 x the height each, at the full diameter, and the waist between them is 0.88 x the diameter. The end edges are rounded by 0.1 x the radius. - An open drum core has flanges 0.15 x the height thick, at the full diameter. The copper winding between them is 0.9 x the diameter, on a core of 0.5 x it, with its turns drawn 0.5 apart and 0.1 deep. The sheets give no wire size. - The body touches the board. The leads end 3.0 below the board by default (`tail`). 09HCP's dimension "a" (2.0 or 3.0 max by part number) isn't modelled. - Materials are for looks and a rough mass. Ferrite isn't in the material list, so alumina, a ceramic with a density of about 3.9 against ferrite's 4.8, stands in for the ferrite can and drum core. The tube types' body is one solid, the drum core with its thin plastic tube, and it's alumina too, because most of it is ferrite. The winding is copper and the leads are tinned copper. ## Catalogue models `L_Radial_D10.0mm_P5.00mm_Fastron_07M` maps to 07M. Measured on the reference model: Ø 10.0, 12.55 high (12.5 max on the sheet). Its body sits 0.2 above the board, on a 3 x 3 stand-off. Its leads are 1.0 square, where the sheet gives Ø 0.65. This part uses the sheet's leads. The catalogue's other Fastron radial models aren't this part. Their bodies or pitches differ from the sheets, so they're left out (`COVERAGE.md`): - 07P: Ø 7.5 at 3.5 and 5.0, and Ø 10.0 at 5.0. The sheet gives Ø 7.2 max. - 07HCP: Ø 7.8 and 8.7. The sheet gives 8.3, or 9.2 with tube. - 09HCP: Ø 12.5 at 7.0 and 9.0, and Ø 13.5. The sheet gives 12.3, or 12.7 with tube, at 7.0. - 07HVP: Ø 9.5. The sheet gives 8.3, or 9.2 with tube. - 11P: Ø 12.0. The sheet gives 10.5.
