# Metric threaded rod and double-ended stud (DIN 976-1) Fully threaded metric rod (studding, all-thread), M2 to M36, at any length; the same envelope serves for double-ended studs. Presets cover the common catalogue rods (M8 × 1000, ...) and studs (M6 × 40, ...). ## Geometry Envelope for assemblies: a plain cylinder at the nominal (major) thread diameter **d**, overall length `length`; the thread is not modelled. One end is on the XY plane at the origin, the rod along +Z. ## Parameters | Parameter | Meaning | |---|---| | `size` | Thread size, M2 to M36 (coarse series) | | `length` | Overall length, mm | | `material` | `steel` (property class 4.8 / 8.8, zinc plated), `stainless-a2`, `stainless-a4` (ISO 3506-1), `brass` | ## Source DIN 976-1:2016-09, *Fasteners — Stud bolts — Part 1: Metric thread*: the sizes M2 to M72 with their coarse pitches, read from fasten.it (); every size of this recipe (M2, M2.5, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, M20, M24, M30, M36) is listed. Form A (thread over the whole length, thread end to DIN EN ISO 4753) is defined in Bild 1 of DIN 976-1:2002-12, p. 3 (); DIN Media's change note for the 2016 edition lists no change to the forms or sizes. The diameter d of an "M d" thread is its nominal size (ISO 261 designation): d = 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 24, 30, 36 mm.
